Karl Dmitri Bishop was born in Cambridge, United Kingdom. After studying religious studies and folklore Dmitri Bishop lives between the UK and India.

His shots are highly constructed and processed, with each feeling more akin to a painting; the elaborate veils that shroud each subject lend them their intangible quality of otherworldliness.

Through photography (mainly), but also other artistic means, Karl Dmitri Bishop seeks catharsis, and mimesis of a dreamlike state disconnected from reality, a visual representation of what is not seen, yet thriving somewhere, in-between the layers of our rational and rationalizing sight.

His work has been shown and published in many countries around the world, including India, Australia and the USA.

With an ever growing audience, Karl Dmitri Bishop leaves a sense of wonder and mystery with his magical work.
